What will we be doing? During the weekend, the youth spend time at Council, supporting the youth delegates and alternates, participating in worship, and listening to presentations by various diocesan ministries, such as Gray Center and Camp Bratton-Green. The youth also lead Council in Noonday Prayers and are available at the Youth Booth to talk about diocesan youth events.
During the evenings and on Saturday afternoon, youth participants have their own program. There are opportunities to do service work and discuss issues addressed by the resolutions that Annual Diocesan Council is considering, as well as those mentioned in the Bishop’s Address. Of course, there is also plenty of time for fun!
Who can attend? This event is for senior high youth in 9th – 12th grade. Youth Delegates and Alternates to Council are welcome to sign-up for the lock-in, but are not required to. But with lodging, meals, and transportation provided, it’s a great deal! If you are a Youth Delegate or Alternate, please make sure your priest registered you as one (that registration is separate from the lock-In registration)
Where do I check-in? All youth check-in at the convention center in the same location clergy and delegates/alternates check-in.
Where will we stay? This year Chapel of the Cross in Madison has graciously agreed to be our host! Transportation is provided for all youth. Youth will not be allowed to drive.
Where can I be picked up? All youth are brought to the convention center to attend the Closing Eucharist on Sunday morning with the rest of Council and may be picked up there.
What if I can’t afford the fee to attend? Please speak with your priest first about financial assistance.
